" From the Past to the Future", by Jie Heng
Only by understanding the foundation of each student can teachers teach students in accordance with their aptitude, especially in creative teaching.
In this "Transforming Art" course, students need to learn the following different thinking and appreciation abilities:-
Analyze and understand the main elements of the painting
Observe the whole and details carefully
Understand and comprehend the concepts behind the paintings
Appreciate the combination of colors in the painting and its original meaning
Layout of space
The sense of perspective in three-dimensional space
The thinking and sensitivity abilities mentioned above cannot be successfully cultivated in just a few classes! In fact, similar courses were arranged and introduced last year and this year to cultivate students' learning abilities in a superficial way.
Since each student has different qualities and foundations, each student's interpretation of the same painting will naturally have different perspectives and self-creation abilities.
Below I introduce the work of a classmate as an example of research:-
Jie Heng - "From the Past to the Future"
This classmate himself has the potential to visualize three-dimensional space. He had taken a three-dimensional visualization training course as early as three years ago, and he has gradually revealed his ability to visualize three-dimensional objects. Although he has not yet mastered it, the foundation has indeed been established.
In order to strengthen his confidence, I guided him based on his talent on how to enhance the three-dimensional feeling at the "entrance" in the painting. The point is that the "entrance" is the central point of his creative concept. Its location also has a representative meaning behind it! It also represents the transition point between the new and the old era of a nation’s existence!
Usually, if three-dimensional objects appear in a painting, the entire vision will present a sense of spatial hierarchy. In addition, the coordination of light and color requires more time to master. Since the time schedule for this coursework is tight, he has to think about how to complete it in the most effective way.
If you want to make every detail three-dimensional, it will definitely not be completed within a limited time frame, so more details are focused on the center!
When formulating the concept of his work, it was natural that the main point he needed to consider was the layering of space:-
The "entrance" in the painting is the center point.
In front of the "entrance" is the modern and unknown future.
Behind is the pristine natural environment where people once lived.
On the left is traditional art and culture worthy of national preservation.
On the right is a nation that has made nature a part of its life, such as plants.
Behind the whole painting are different shades of blue as infinite space, freedom and peace! These three elements happen to be the quality of life that every ethnic group hopes to enjoy!
